I called Tom about what I thought was a pressure relief valve on my tankless water heater.
Tom said let me come check your water pressure, it was 140lbs! Tom said you need a pressure reducing valve.
So i show Tom where the water supply line and pressure reducing valve is in the basement.
Then Tom walks me through the path of the water flow and the current cut off valves for the whole house and the outside hose bib. Tom asked me a question about why do I have two water cut offs for the hose bib? Then I explained to him that I couldn’t get the water valve to cut off for the hose bib during the winter. It would keep leaking so I put a shark bite valve in there. Tom then walks me through what he recommends I should do to not have any more problems with valves or the routing of the water lines.
Tom says I can clean this all up when I put in the new pressure reducing valve in and put new quarter turn ball valves in for your cut offs!
I told Tom that sounds great I certainly don’t want any problems when I go to sell the house!
Tom did a great job installing everything, after it was installed, he adjusted the water pressure to a safe level that will help protect the rest of the faucets inside the house. 55lbs
After this was done, I checked the pressure relief valve on my tankless water heater, and it was no longer leaking!
Sometimes what you believe is the problem it is something different causing a reaction from another system in your house.
